CMT San Jose brings the backstage musical to Montgomery Theater July 9–18, 2027. Its nine-performance schedule is divided between the NICKEL and DIME casts.

Peggy Sawyer arrives in New York from small-town Pennsylvania hoping to make a career in theater. When the leading lady of a new Broadway show is injured just before opening night, Peggy gets the chance to take her place. That backstage setup is the frame for tap numbers and songs including “We’re in the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway” and “42nd Street.”
The musical’s book is credited to Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble. Harry Warren wrote the music; Al Dubin wrote the lyrics, with additional lyrics by Johnny Mercer.

CMT identifies 42nd Street as a Rising Stars production featuring local performers ages 10–14. Its stated qualification is age 10 and entering sixth grade through age 14 and completing eighth grade. That range describes the performers, not a published audience age restriction.
The production is part of CMT San Jose’s 59th season. The season roster also includes Junior Talents, Mainstage and Marquee productions, placing 42nd Street within one strand of the organization’s broader youth musical-theater program.

The schedule assigns five performances to NICKEL and four to DIME. July 10, 11 and 17 each offer both casts on the same day; NICKEL performs on opening night and the final date, while DIME has the July 16 performance. CMT’s box-office listing gives prices of $35 for adults in Section A, $32 for adults in Section B, $30 for children 12 and under in Section A, and $27 for children 12 and under in Section B.
Those prices include ticket service fees of $4.50–$5.50 per ticket. CMT says the fees cannot be waived, including for tickets purchased online, by phone or in person. Check with CMT for current prices and availability.
CMT’s production page names June 11 as the single-ticket on-sale date but does not specify a year. It also offers subscribers early access. Confirm the sale timing and availability with CMT before making plans.

CMT lists a 15% discount on regular adult-priced tickets for groups of 15–24 and a 25% discount for groups of more than 25. Group sales go through the Box Office. A group hold requires a $100 deposit, which is applied toward the group purchase; contact CMT for details.
CMT’s posted policy allows no refunds. Exchanges carry a $5 processing fee and can be made only for the show the tickets were purchased for.
