Kadampa Meditation Center Brooklyn pairs an introduction to seed-letter symbolism with painting instruction and time to create a work of your own.
All times are local to the venue · America/New York
The workshop treats painting as a way into Buddhist iconography: participants first hear how seed letters are understood, then learn essential painting skills and choose one or more symbols to paint.
The event presents seed letters as sacred symbols associated with the minds of Buddhas. Its framing connects understanding and meditating on the letters with a deeper grasp of the spiritual path, giving the painting activity a contemplative context rather than treating the letters as a purely decorative subject.

After a short talk about the symbols, an art instructor will share essential painting skills. Participants can then select one or more symbols and paint them themselves. Painting supplies are included, so the listed admission price covers the materials as well as participation.
