TheaterWorks Hartford’s holiday comedy returns for its 14th year, with performances from November 24 through December 23, 2026.

All times are local to the venue · America/New York
A bartender working Christmas Eve gets an unusual succession of customers in Christmas on the Rocks. Their holiday complaints drive a parody set in a rundown local bar, directed by Rob Ruggiero.
Rather than setting its Christmas story around a family gathering, the show brings familiar and surprising visitors to a bartender who expected a quiet night. Their grievances give the comedy its less-than-sentimental view of the holiday.
The production’s top billing names David Beach, John Cariani, Judy Gold, Jenn Harris, Jacques Lamarre, Edwin Sánchez and Matt Wilkas as writers. Ruggiero directs, with a design team that includes Michael Schweikardt on sets and Alejo Vietti on costumes.
