Deck the Halls: A Winter Container Workshop

A seasonal design, made from a selection of materials

Rather than prescribe one finished look, the workshop invites participants to select materials from an arrangement bar and make the composition their own. Instruction covers how to combine textures and layers in an arrangement designed to look good across the winter-to-spring transition.

The class provides instruction, potting medium, fresh greens, a three-gallon plastic pot, and assorted natural and traditional decorations. The finished outdoor arrangement can go in that nursery pot or in a participant’s favorite planter. Additional stems and decorations are available for purchase.

Dress for a greenhouse afternoon

The hands-on class takes place in the greenhouse. The organizer says the furnace will be on, but temperatures can vary with the sunshine, so it recommends dressing in layers.

A holiday beverage is offered, and the listing also mentions the nursery’s hot-cocoa blend brewing. Participants may bring a drink of their own.
