At the Fall Orchid Show, the display is also an opportunity to learn how orchids grow beyond it. Utah Orchid Society members will be available to answer questions from beginners and experienced growers at Red Butte Garden’s Richard K. Hemingway Orangerie.
The society calls its fall 2026 show “Banquet of Orchids.” Red Butte Garden describes a display spanning familiar orchids and less usual specimens; the society also notes that many orchids can be grown as houseplants.
If you have an orchid at home, bring a specific care or troubleshooting question for the society members on hand. If you’re considering a first plant, the show offers a chance to ask for guidance before choosing from the orchids for sale. Pottery will also be available separately from admission.

Educational classes are planned for both afternoons, with starts around 2 p.m. Specific subjects have not been announced, so contact the organizers if a particular topic would determine when you visit.
The display is not limited to society members: growers may enter orchids without joining. The society directs prospective exhibitors to the Orchid Show section of its website for entry details. Setup is Friday, November 6, from noon to 5 p.m.; the society recommends arriving by 4 p.m. to leave time for plant processing.

The campus shuttle runs on weekdays, not during the show weekend. The Garden suggests walking from nearby UTA stops or the University South Campus and Fort Douglas TRAX stations; walks include some uphill sections and areas without sidewalks.
The Garden says the Orangerie is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Ramps on both sides of the Visitor Center parking lot lead to the Visitor Center entrance, where doors have push-to-open buttons.
