You don’t need a Mahjong set—or previous experience—to join the Wednesday meetup at San Francisco’s Ferry Building Marketplace. The gathering welcomes all skill levels and offers a quick guide and tips for people new to Chinese-style play.
The meetup is an opportunity to try Chinese-style Mahjong with some introductory help, rather than a class with a published lesson plan. Experienced players are welcome, too, and anyone with a favorite set can bring it.
Sets are provided, but both sets and seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Bringing your own set is an option, not a reservation for a seat.
