The site’s history shapes its rules

The Nevada State Prison stopped operating in 2012. The site remains state property administered by the Nevada Department of Corrections, so the organizer sets rules for visitors on the grounds.

Blue jeans are prohibited because inmates wore blue; photography is encouraged. Weapons, alcohol, tobacco and drugs are not allowed. Visitors who do not follow the rules may be asked to leave without a refund.
