A presentation involves both preparing a talk and communicating it to an audience. Oral Presentations 101 addresses both parts in a one-hour UAB workshop on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
One format in a wider series
UAB describes the session as an introduction to creating and delivering an oral presentation, with an emphasis on effective communication. The announcement does not specify whether participants will give a talk during the workshop or need to bring materials.
It follows two earlier PostDoc Workshop Series sessions on different aspects of research communication. The first, Role of Storytelling in Science and Science Communication, addressed turning research into stories; Creating the Perfect Poster for Expo, Part I focused on poster structure. A separate Part II poster session is scheduled for November 3. Those poster sessions are distinct from the October 29 oral-presentation workshop.
