The Heard Museum’s Ornament Marketplace is a chance to shop for small works by Native artists in a museum store with a much broader year-round collection. For the 2026 event, Arviso’s dragonfly is the signature design, joined by ornaments in traditional and contemporary styles.
Arviso’s detailed sterling-silver dragonfly is the marketplace’s 2026 signature ornament. The museum lists 40 pieces, each signed and numbered by the artist. General sales are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Friday, November 27, both in the shop and online; the ornament cannot be held before the marketplace begins.
The museum says all ornaments are sold while supplies last, so the scheduled online sales start is not a guarantee that a particular piece will remain available.

The museum’s featured artists include Adrian Wall and Glenda Loretto, both Jemez; Michelle Cheama, Zuni; Erik Fender, San Ildefonso; and Valerie Namoki, Hopi-Tewa. Their inclusion identifies artists represented in the marketplace, not a schedule of in-person appearances.
The ornaments are handmade, and the museum notes that colors and styles can vary. Beyond the seasonal selection, the shop has operated since 1958 and carries Indigenous-made work including jewelry, textiles, pottery and baskets. It sits next to the museum lobby, making it possible to visit the free shop event without purchasing separate museum admission.
