Ryman Haunted History Tour opens a path beneath the stage
The Ryman Haunted History Tour takes visitors below the stage of a building that has served as a tabernacle, an Opry home and a performance hall. The guided visit is scheduled for Halloween evening, October 31, 2026.
A 45-minute visit
The ticketed tour includes a guide, access beneath the stage and a photo to remember the visit. The Ryman lists the event from 6 to 8 p.m., but says the tour itself lasts 45 minutes; its listed showtime is 6 p.m.
The venue has not specified which haunted stories or subjects the guide will cover. Visitors looking for a particular legend should treat the beneath-stage access as the confirmed feature, rather than expect a named story.

The building above
The auditorium began as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, a religious meeting place inspired by riverboat captain Thomas Ryman. Its first concert was the 1892 May Music Festival; the Fisk Jubilee Singers also made their Ryman debut that year.
Manager Lula Naff brought the Grand Ole Opry to the building in 1943. The show remained there until 1974, and during that period Earl Scruggs made his Opry debut with Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys. Those are chapters in the venue’s history, not a confirmed itinerary for this tour.
After the Opry moved, the auditorium stood largely empty for nearly two decades. Renovations included repairs to the original woodwork and a new roof, and the Ryman reopened in 1994 as a performance hall and museum.
