SFMOMA Member Party 2026: RM x SFMOMA After Hours
Nearly 150 works from BTS artist RM’s personal collection are paired with pieces from SFMOMA in RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me, a Floor 7 exhibition the museum includes in its December member party. Its focus reaches from Korean art’s long history to contemporary practice, giving the museumwide after-hours event a substantial gallery destination alongside DJs and one-night-only activities.
A collector’s perspective, alongside SFMOMA’s
RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, has collected art for nearly a decade. For Between You and Me, he brings nearly 150 works from his personal collection together with works from SFMOMA. The exhibition is curated by RM with SFMOMA co-curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim.
The show runs October 3, 2026, through February 7, 2027, on Floor 7, so it will be on view during the party. SFMOMA specifically includes it in the event’s after-hours access to the entire museum.

Korean art across centuries and media
Centered on modern and contemporary Korean art, the exhibition also follows a broader history of art in Korea from the fifth century to today. Ceramics, calligraphy, painting and sculpture are among the media represented; named artists include Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun and Chang Ucchin. SFMOMA says many works have not previously been exhibited in the United States.
Korean artists appear alongside artists from around the world, creating connections across different practices rather than presenting Korean art in isolation. Handwritten gallery texts and an audio guide narrated by RM provide his reflections on the works—useful ways to follow the show’s personal point of view as well as its wider historical scope.
