Participants will decorate finished silk with paints and markers. Materials are provided, and a simple drawing, poem or phrase can become part of the design.

A line drawing, poem or phrase can serve as the starting point for Silk Scarf Painting, where participants are invited to incorporate their own words or images into a wearable scarf.
The workshop uses silk paints and a variety of markers on finished silk. Participants are encouraged to bring a simple line drawing, poem or phrase to work into the composition; the Conservancy says all materials will be provided.
The event description presents the scarf as a holiday gift, either for its maker or for someone else. That leaves room to approach the project as a personal accessory or as something intended for another person.
