At Pemberley, the servants’ work is more than background to Christmas: The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley makes their disrupted routine the point where the household’s holiday turns unstable.
The listing’s story centers on Lydia’s husband, Mr. Wickham, who arrives at the Darcy estate without an invitation and under the influence. His presence disrupts the servants’ work below while Christmas festivities continue upstairs.
The disturbance brings secrets to light and strains loyalties. By placing the servants’ interrupted routine alongside the festivities above, the play makes the household’s different levels part of its conflict.

The event listing describes The Wickhams as a companion to Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, with the Darcy estate’s holiday seen through the servants’ experience. It credits Gunderson and Melcon and frames the story around class, upheaval and forgiveness.
That perspective shifts attention from the holiday’s upstairs celebrations to the people keeping the household moving—and what happens when their routine is abruptly unsettled.
