At trail stop 11, a mural about parks, waterways and wildlife brings a little of Vermilion County’s landscape into downtown Danville. It’s one destination on the Walldogs Trick-or-Treat Mural Trail on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
A landscape on aluminum
The Parks Mural stop is at The Garden at 107, next to Vermilion River Beer Co. Artist Mike Meyer’s Vermilion County Parks Walldog Mural celebrates the county’s more than 16,000 acres of parks and natural spaces, with trails, water, wildlife and recreation among its subjects.
Unlike a design applied directly to a building wall, Meyer’s mural uses aluminum panels. Its outdoor theme also carries into the Danville Area Visitors Bureau’s activity at the stop: visitors can enter for a nature-themed gift basket. The listed contents include children’s books and crafts, Forest Glen Maple Syrup and a Vermilion County Conservation District Summer Camp Gift Card.
The bureau also plans to sell official Walldogs T-shirts for $20 at the stop. The basket entry conditions and drawing time have not been announced.

The murals behind the trail
Danville’s Walldog collection grew from an August 2010 gathering that brought more than 100 mural artists to the city. In a few days, they made more than a dozen murals, drawing on the tradition of sign painters who once painted advertisements on walls.
The visitors bureau’s broader mural guide covers subjects from local businesses to community history. It is useful background for exploring downtown, but the Halloween event map is the better guide to the trick-or-treat route; not every mural in the general guide is necessarily a trail stop.
