Follow a friend into HYROX
Eight runs and eight workout stations can be easier to follow when you know someone on the course. Start at the sidelines, meet the clubs, and understand what racing together really means.

Start with the day on your friend's ticket. HYROX Dallas runs from November 18 through 22, 2026, with different divisions spread across the five days. The person you are going to cheer for has a particular race within that schedule. Their individual start time is another detail, released closer to the event. Putting the event on your calendar is only the beginning of a plan.
That small piece of coordination is a useful introduction to HYROX. The sport turns running and gym exercises into a timed indoor race, but the day also involves partners, coaches, people along the barriers and friends waiting for a finish. Knowing how those roles fit together gives you something to follow beyond a succession of people pushing sleds.
You can arrive as a spectator with no intention of entering a race. You can also use the visit to work out what interests you: the individual effort, a partnership, a team relay or the training group that brought everyone there. Each asks something different of you.

HYROX has a repeating structure: run one kilometer, complete a workout station, then run again. Over the full course there are eight kilometers of running and eight stations, in a fixed sequence. The repetition gives a first-time spectator a way to make sense of the activity.
The stations move from SkiErg to sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, kettlebell farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. On the SkiErg, racers pull the handles of a ski-training machine. Later, the farmers carry involves moving with a kettlebell in each hand. The equipment changes; the return to the run course keeps the race connected.
Watch how racers move between the run and the workout stations. Each return means finding the correct entrance and exit and continuing through the course in order. For spectators, learning where a friend will reappear can be more useful than trying to keep them in sight continuously.
The venue map supplies the detail that a general explanation cannot. A kilometer can require several laps, depending on the building. Check the event's published plan before assuming a pass in front of you means a run is finished. Use the designated viewing areas and follow staff directions when moving around, leaving enough room for other people to pass.
