KU’s Arabic Language Table makes room for language and cultural exchange
At the Arabic Language Table, the University of Kansas pairs a social gathering with an introduction to language and culture connected to the Middle East and North Africa. Participants are invited to bring coffee and meet others in the Kansas Union’s fourth-floor lobby.
An informal way to explore
KU describes the table as a relaxed forum for interaction rather than setting out a lesson plan. Its focus is on cultural and linguistic expression from Arab countries, though individual meeting topics are not announced.
The calendar includes community members, prospective students, faculty and staff among its intended audiences, as well as undergraduate and graduate students. If you want to know what level of Arabic is expected, contact Amal El Haimeur before attending.
