The free Sunday carillon series turns the World War II Memorial Campanile into an outdoor concert venue, with room to listen beyond the tower.

At Concerts at the Campanile, the instrument is part of the landmark: 53 bronze bells housed in the University of Kansas’ memorial tower. The next listed performance is Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 5 to 6 p.m. in Lawrence.
KU identifies Dr. Elizabeth Egbert Berghout as its University Carillonist and says she and guest carillonists perform in the series. The November 1 listing does not name the individual pieces or specify who will play that day.
The concert is designed for outdoor listening rather than an indoor seat facing a stage. KU recommends choosing a spot at least 200 feet from the tower for the best sound—a useful consideration before settling in for the hour.

If November 1 does not fit, KU’s event calendar also lists Sunday concerts at the same time through December 27, 2026. Those are separate performances; the listing does not identify a programme for each date.
