At Baby / Toddler Storytime, a book is one part of the activity rather than the whole plan. The library describes songs and movement for both age groups, with parent participation and a short play period in the baby program.
Choosing by age
For babies from birth through 24 months, a librarian leads activities that invite parents to participate. Books, rhythm, rhyme and movement are part of a program intended to support early literacy as well as motor, sensory and social skills. A short period of play follows.
The toddler activities, recommended for ages 2–3, combine books, songs and movement with art. The event is listed broadly for children from birth through age 5, but these narrower recommendations give families a clearer guide to the activities described. The listing does not specify separate times for the baby and toddler portions.
