The invitation runs in two directions: try a game from the library’s collection, or bring one you know and teach it to someone else. Board with Books brings that open-play format to Central Library on Nov. 19, with a broad range of modern and traditional games rather than a published list of titles.
The library describes a range of modern and traditional board games for visitors to play. The invitation suits both someone hoping to learn a new game and someone who wants to introduce a favorite to other players.
No individual titles are named in the listing, so anyone planning around a particular game should not assume it will be available.

Austin Public Library describes Board with Books as a monthly meetup, but its published dates do not establish a repeating weekday or time. The Nov. 19 gathering is a single three-hour session.
The listings also identify two separate December events: a Board with Books – Tabletop RPG Edition on Monday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and a standard Board with Books meetup on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. They are distinct dates and formats, not additional parts of the November session.
