November 10–15, 2026; eight performances. Pre-show cartooning is listed on November 10, 12, 13 and 15, starting 90 minutes before the show; confirm the November 15 session schedule with The Bushnell.
Betty Boop wants a day away from fame. In Boop! The Musical, that wish takes her from her black-and-white cartoon world to New York City. The stage musical plays Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell November 10–15, 2026, with a local drawing activity before shows on selected dates.
The show’s starting point is Betty’s hope for an ordinary day off, a premise that sends her into a New York adventure with music and romance. It brings the Fleischer Studios character to the stage in a musical comedy directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
David Foster wrote the score, Susan Birkenhead the lyrics and Bob Martin the book. The Hartford engagement is part of The Bushnell’s 2026–2027 Broadway season.

On selected dates, the cartoon connection begins before the performance. Hartford cartoonist and animator Joe Young leads a hands-on experience featuring The Bushnell’s Horace B and characters of Young’s own creation. The activity takes place in the Seaverns Room, starting 90 minutes before the show.
Young is a teaching artist in The Bushnell’s education department and works across comics, animation, film and television. Among his creations is Kemet, a time-traveling comic superhero. His pre-show session offers a different way to engage with character-making alongside Betty’s stage adventure.
The Bushnell lists cartooning on November 10, 12, 13 and 15. Because there are two performances on November 15, check with the venue about that day’s session schedule before choosing a ticket. Ask The Bushnell about any separate registration or charge for the activity, too.
