Getting to the house
House address and parking
The event address is 351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford. The museum’s main free parking lot entrance is at 385 Farmington Avenue, a few hundred feet west of the house; a smaller lot is at 65 Forest Street.
For passengers with limited mobility, the museum directs visitors to continue east on Farmington Avenue past the house, turn right onto Forest Street, and use the Museum Center’s rear parking entrance at 65 Forest Street.

By bus
CT Transit routes 60, 62, 64 and 66 connect the museum with downtown Hartford and West Hartford Center. The museum lists a transit shelter at Farmington Avenue and Woodland Street.
Entrance and access
The museum’s visitor guide says tours gather first at the Webster Bank Museum Center, beside the parking lot. Visitors can enter by the stairs or the wheelchair-accessible ramp immediately to their right. The route between buildings includes a short outdoor walk; stone and gravel paths may be uneven or slippery in some weather.
The Museum Center is wheelchair accessible, and the historic house’s first floor is accessible. The complete house tour involves three flights of stairs and has no elevator: the guide specifies 41 steps up to the billiard room and 40 back down to the kitchen.
