For Halloween at Roq, the dance floor opens to a lesson before Cariño Latin band plays. The Charleston event takes place Saturday, October 31, 2026, and welcomes guests in costume.
An early lesson, then Cariño
Arriving for the lesson gives dancers a chance to take part before the live music begins. Its instructor, dance style and skill level have not been announced, and the Halloween listing does not say whether participants need a partner.
Cariño has played at Roq before. A listing for the band’s September 2026 appearance named salsa, bachata, cumbia and merengue among its musical styles. That offers a sense of the group’s range, though it is not a setlist for Halloween.

A local dance connection
The event is organized by Salsa Group of Charleston WV, a community of Latin dance enthusiasts whose group page describes weekly gatherings to learn and practice, including salsa and bachata lessons. The Halloween event is a separate occasion at Roq; the group’s regular lesson description does not establish what will be taught that night.
