A memorial for a gym member and a conversation about youth mental health are part of the Kevin Vega Classic with Trunk-or-Treat. The October 31 event at Old School Boxing Club also brings together a boxing competition and a movie-themed Halloween activity.
Boxing with a purpose beyond the ring
The belt-and-ring competition is planned with walkouts and a live DJ, and organizers say it will be livestreamed with commentary. A boxing start time and a viewing link have not been announced.
The event honors a deceased member of the gym and aims to raise awareness of youth mental health. Mental-health speakers are planned, along with information for children and parents about available resources.

A separate Halloween window
The trunk-or-treat features a variety of movie themes and runs from noon to 2 p.m. That window applies to the Halloween activity, not necessarily the boxing; visitors hoping to see the bouts should check for a competition schedule before making plans.
A local food truck is also expected onsite, though its vendor and menu have not been identified.
