The November 1 market at Fairfax High School includes an intuitive-poetry session, a typewriter-poetry pop-up and live music alongside its changing mix of vintage and handmade goods.

All times are local to the venue · America/Los Angeles
Every Sunday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM; summer hours are 10:00 AM–6:00 PM from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Open rain or shine. The November 1, 2026 program begins at 11:00 AM.
A journal is as useful as a shopping list at Melrose Trading Post on November 1, 2026. Dr. Meryah A. Fisher leads an intuitive poetry writing meditation in the morning, before an afternoon of music at the weekly Fairfax High School market.
Fisher’s Innergy.Wrk session runs from 11 a.m. to noon and is part of Wellness Through Words, the market’s collaboration with Eclectuals Book Market. It combines intuitive poetry writing with meditation; materials are provided, although participants may bring their own journal, sketchbook or pens. The session is included with market admission.
The wider series gives authors, poets and artists space for creative and reflective activities. Other November Sundays have different sessions: breath work on November 15 and sound journaling on November 29. Neither is part of Fisher’s November 1 session.
There is another poetry stop that first Sunday: LA Poet Society Typewriter Poetry is listed at R25. The organizer has not announced a time for the pop-up.

The Sunday stalls bring together artists, makers, vintage curators, collectors and designers. The selection changes, with categories ranging from vintage clothing and antique furniture to original art and handmade goods. The organizer’s searchable market map can be checked by merchandise or business name, though a listing is not a guarantee of a particular seller or item on November 1.
The Greenway Main Stage is in the Red section near the main food court, making it a useful reference point when planning time between browsing and the program. Food trucks and food and beverage booths are spread around the market, including near the entrances.
Cordelia Fox and Alex Maes follow the morning session on the main stage; the organizer says this will be Maes’s first appearance at the market. DJ VFRESH is listed separately in the Blue section by Prizm Coffee.

Whitney Weston and Pierson Blaetz started Melrose Trading Post in 1997 through the nonprofit Greenway Arts Alliance. Greenway says market proceeds support its arts institute at Fairfax High School and productions at Greenway Court Theatre.
The institute gives Fairfax High and other LAUSD students access to arts and leadership opportunities during and after school at no cost. Greenway also says Fairfax students can gain paid experience helping operate the market. The neighboring theater began as a social hall built by students in 1939; Greenway converted it into a professional theater in 2000.
