At the San Diego Convention Center, exhibit halls are on the ground level, while meeting rooms occupy the mezzanine and upper floors. That layout gives visitors a useful starting point for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Annual Convention, listed for Feb. 12–17, 2027, but the event information does not identify which spaces it will use.
The center has three levels. Exhibit Halls A–H and Lobbies A–H are on the ground floor; meeting rooms 12–19 are on the mezzanine. The upper level has meeting rooms 1–11 and 21–33, Ballrooms 6 and 20, the Sails Pavilion and terraces.
The convention listing does not name its halls or meeting rooms, so the building map is for orientation rather than a confirmed itinerary. Uniformed Guest Services staff can help visitors find their way. The venue also publishes an accessibility map with elevator and ramp details.

The Convention Center sits beside the Gaslamp Quarter, with the Embarcadero along its west side. The venue describes downtown as walkable, and two MTS Trolley stops are directly in front of the building. That can make transit a practical alternative to driving for getting around downtown.
Santa Fe Depot, served by Amtrak and the NCTD COASTER, is about a mile away on foot or reachable by trolley. Ferry service connects the Convention Center with Coronado; the crossing takes about 15 minutes. Check the operators for current schedules and ticketing.

The Convention Center’s construction update, last reviewed in August 2026, says the second phase of work at Park Boulevard and Harbor Drive is expected to begin in 2027 and continue through late 2028. Curb improvements at the intersection will require a single-lane closure for about a week; road paving later in the project will also require a single-lane closure along the city side of Harbor Drive. The update does not give dates for either closure.
The same update says construction of the North County Transit District Downtown Platform Project was expected to start in late 2026, with the new station estimated to open in early 2028. The work is near the existing rail line between First and Fifth avenues, across from the Convention Center; the update does not specify travel impacts.
A separate Bayshore Bikeway project segment between Park Boulevard and Beardsley Street was on hold pending completion of the Harbor Drive Trunk Sewer Project. The update says that, once work begins, traffic on Harbor Drive between Park Boulevard and Cesar Chavez Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Project schedules can change, so check current conditions closer to the event.
