A pumpkin can start with glued wood blocks or a cardboard base wrapped in yarn. Those are two of the projects at October Fall Drop-In Crafts, a Friday series at AMC Collective; the third turns a jar into a luminary with tissue paper and a battery-operated tea light.
Three materials, three approaches
The Wood Pumpkins project combines construction and painting: participants glue blocks together and choose their paint colors. Yarn Pumpkins offer a different kind of work, wrapping yarn around a cardboard base, with a choice of yarn.
For the Fall Luminary Jar, the decorating material is fall-colored tissue paper. A battery-operated tea light finishes the piece. All three projects have supplies included, and no crafting experience is necessary.

Making alongside a marketplace
AMC Collective is a year-round artisan marketplace and creative studio, so the drop-in session sits alongside its broader program of workshops and handmade goods. The venue also has a pre-loved supply room with new and gently used craft materials; its selection changes over time.
