At Shawnee, chess is both the activity and the way players can learn from one another: the library welcomes every skill level and offers a local librarian as a potential opponent.
The program description combines learning, strategy-sharing and play, with participants able to test their game against a librarian. It does not announce separate lesson segments, tournament rounds or weekly themes, so visitors can expect a shared chess session rather than a fixed instructional itinerary.
