Strong Families, Strong Minds makes room for the practical questions that can come with raising or supporting a child with autism or other unique needs. The monthly circle welcomes parents, guardians and grandparents to connect with other caregivers and explore a different subject at each meeting.
R. Family Care Services hosts the one-hour series, led by its respite coordinator, Raven Napoleon. The circle combines connection with other caregivers and discussion of concerns such as behavior, structure at home, stress and advocacy within the school system.
The monthly themes give prospective attendees a way to choose a meeting that addresses a particular concern. The series also makes space for caregivers’ own needs: March’s Mindful Moments centers on stress management and self-care, while July’s Rest, Reset & Recharge focuses on caregiver wellness.

For caregivers looking at school services, May’s Empowered to Advocate addresses individualized education programs, or IEPs, and school supports. August’s Back to Balance turns to the transition into school routines and the role of consistency.
Other topics focus on family life beyond the classroom. June’s Summer of Structure considers routines alongside fun and behavior support; October’s Grace Under Pressure addresses behaviors and emotional triggers, as well as predictability and independence. The November and December meetings turn toward reflection and connection.
