Ten one-hour classes give beginners a chance to study tai chi across the winter at Atlanta Botanical Garden. Instructor Mali Harrell leads Tai Chi – Beginner – Quarter I from January through March 2027.
The Garden presents tai chi as a Chinese martial art intended to increase flexibility and balance. This course is designated for beginners; the Garden also lists a separate intermediate Quarter I course, so check the course title when registering.
The series meets on Saturday mornings, with two breaks during the quarter: there is no class on January 23 or February 13. Anyone with questions about physical requirements or the movements involved can contact the Garden’s education team before registering.

Class fees include Garden admission, so participants can also plan time to explore. The Garden map identifies outdoor spaces including the Japanese Garden, as well as indoor plant collections in the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center.
The class listing does not identify a meeting point within the Garden. Ask the education team where to report, particularly if you need to plan an accessible route.
