The map is part of the visit’s practical design: its icons identify interactive garden areas and displays with strong sensory features, giving guests information to consider as they choose where to go.
Guests receive a customized map when they arrive. It marks areas with interactive features, including touch and smell, as well as displays with sensory elements such as loud sounds or strong odors. That advance notice can help visitors decide which parts of the grounds fit their needs.
Selby describes Tranquil Tuesdays as a private, after-hours experience for neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive guests, families and caregivers. The format is quiet exploration, not a sequence of scheduled activities.

The Children’s Rainforest Garden, Florida Lagoon and Mangrove Boardwalk remain open, along with restrooms and all walking paths. The Tropical Conservatory, gift shop, café and Museum of Botany and the Arts are closed for the event, so plan on exploring the outdoor areas rather than visiting those indoor attractions.

Noise-cancelling earmuffs, sensory kits and wheelchairs are available to borrow at no charge. Guests may also bring their own tools, toys or stimming devices.
