The Ferry Building Marketplace becomes an indoor trick-or-treating route on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Shops displaying festive signs will welcome costumed visitors during a free Halloween event for kids and families.
A Halloween route through the Marketplace
At Trick-or-Treat, the signs at participating shops are the guide: families can move through the Marketplace and stop at the businesses taking part. Costumes are welcome, and the event is open to all ages.
There are activities beyond the shop visits, too. SFEtsy is providing a free craft activity, and a live pumpkin-carving demonstration gives visitors a chance to watch rather than make. Halloween music and games are also planned; separate times for the activities have not been announced.

Accessible public restrooms are in the north and south ferry terminal pass-throughs. The building has no lockers or storage areas for purchases.
Getting to the Ferry Building
Transit and parking
The Marketplace is at 1 Ferry Building on the Embarcadero, at the foot of Market Street. The F Market streetcar stops in front, and BART’s Embarcadero station is one block away. Ferry and Muni services also serve the area.
The venue identifies the ProPark lot at Embarcadero and Washington for validated parking; validations are available with a purchase at most Ferry Building shops. Check parking vendors for current rates. The venue also lists accessible parking near the building.
