Instead of moving through yoga poses, participants in Yoga Nidra and Crystal Bowl Sound Bath settle into a comfortable position on the ground. The November 5 class at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens combines guided meditation with a closing sound bath.
Instructor Paige Phelps of Yoga with Paige will guide participants through a body scan, mindful breathing and visualization. The practice also includes an invitation to set an intention, which can serve alongside the breath as a point of focus.
The class welcomes all levels and does not involve yoga poses, but it is designed as a lying-down practice. Anyone concerned about that position or the outdoor setting can contact the class team before booking.

Crystal singing bowls bring the practice to a close. Selby Gardens describes their sounds as aligned with the seven chakras, or energy systems of the body.
Garden admission is included in the course fee, and Selby encourages participants to explore before class. The bayfront Downtown Sarasota campus has a living collection that includes tropical orchids, bromeliads and ferns.

The guided meditation is followed by the crystal bowl sound bath.
The class is Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Arrive at the Welcome Center Gazebo by 3:15 p.m.

Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or blanket and a refillable water bottle. Selby also suggests outdoor comforts such as sunscreen or personal insect repellent.

The class is at 1534 Mound Street, Sarasota, FL 34236, not the Historic Spanish Point campus. Complimentary parking is in the LEAF facility, accessible from Mound Street/US 41 and South Orange Avenue. Bike racks are near the Welcome Center.

Designated accessible parking and drop-off outside the Welcome Center are available. Primary garden paths are paved, though some areas are unpaved. Complimentary wheelchairs at the Welcome Center are first come, first served and cannot be reserved.
