Come Sit With Me: Hoosier stories and shared reflection at Eagle Creek Park
Four personal stories form the backbone of Come Sit With Me: Stories That Connect Us, but listening is only part of the invitation. After each account, participants take part in a guided reflection together, making room to consider the story rather than moving straight on to the next speaker.
A story, then time to respond
At Peace Learning Center, four Hoosiers from different backgrounds will each share a 15- to 20-minute account of lived experience. The organizers describe the stories as personal reflections rather than performances; they may touch on joy, difficulty, identity or change.
The gathering takes inspiration from Humans of New York’s approach to storytelling and brings the focus to people in the Indianapolis community. Its structure gives each account a companion activity: the group moves through the story and its reflection together, rather than splitting up to choose among concurrent workshops.

From journaling to movement
The possible reflections span several approaches. Nature journaling or watercolor would offer a way to respond through writing or art, while a guided hike or movement workshop would bring a physical dimension to the gathering. A restorative sound bath is another possibility.
These are examples rather than a confirmed list of pairings: the organizer has not said which activity will follow a particular story. If a specific activity or physical requirement matters to your decision, check with Peace Learning Center before registering.

A half-day or the longer conversation
The morning and afternoon registrations offer a shorter commitment; the full-day option covers both portions. The four stories are spread across the gathering, but individual speakers and activities have not been assigned to registration windows in the published information. Choose a session for the time you can attend, rather than expecting a particular story or reflection.
Peace Learning Center describes the event as family-friendly and open to all ages. Families considering the longer option can weigh the extended listening and guided activities against the shorter morning or afternoon choice.
