Color is the material to explore in Anodized Titanium Ornaments with Eden Tighe. At Contemporary Craft’s Raphael Building, participants will learn about anodizing titanium and use the process as a starting point for a decorative ornament.
An ornament built around color
The workshop introduces titanium and the way anodizing creates color on its surface. Participants will experiment with colors, patterns and decorative designs as they make an ornament to keep or give away.
It is a chance to try a particular metalworking process within a single project, rather than a class that assumes previous metalsmithing experience. All studio materials are included in the required materials fee.

From jewelry practice to the studio
Tighe is a metalsmith and textile artist whose work focuses on sculptural body adornment and jewelry. Color and texture recur in pieces that address personal experiences and relationships, making the workshop’s attention to a colored metal surface a connection to her wider practice.
She earned a BFA in Jewelry and Metals from PennWest Edinboro University in 2025 and was a Re-Formed: Jewelry Artist-in-Residence at the Mendocino Arts Center. Her work has also been exhibited at the National Museum of Kazakhstan and during Munich Jewelry Week 2026.

Register through Eventbrite. Tuition is $65, with a required $35 materials fee; all studio materials are included.
Contemporary Craft offers full and partial tuition scholarships for its workshops. Applications are due at least two weeks before the workshop begins.

Contemporary Craft requires student refund requests at least three business days before class and charges a $25 cancellation fee. Eventbrite also displays a seven-day refund policy, so ask the organizer which deadline applies.

Entrance, transit and parking
The workshop is at Contemporary Craft’s Raphael Building, 5645 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201. Its front entrance on Butler Street has power-assist doors.
Contemporary Craft lists public transportation routes 87, 91 and 93. It also lists street parking on Butler Street and 57th Street, and an accessible space in the Raphael Building’s front lot; call 412-261-7003 in advance about that space.
