Babies at the Museum: Gleam & Glow is sold out for Dec. 12, 2026
Art Nouveau comes into focus through glowing lamps, flowing designs and decorative objects in OKCMOA’s Dec. 12 Babies at the Museum: Gleam & Glow. The 9 a.m. session, designed for babies ages 0 to 24 months and their caregivers, is listed as sold out.
A familiar rhythm, with a holiday theme
The museum describes Babies at the Museum as two monthly sessions, on the second Thursday and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Both use the same theme and activities, and families are asked to register for only one session per month. The Dec. 12 edition follows that series format.
The series combines looking at art with listening to music, singing classic children’s songs, moving and playing, and reading books for babies. For this edition, the museum names themed toys and storytime alongside the gallery tour. Its schedule begins with coffee and social time in the Family Space, then gives caregivers a choice after the gallery visit: explore more on their own or return to the Family Space for play.

A small entry point to a wide-ranging exhibition
The session draws from The Triumph of Nature: Art Nouveau from the Chrysler Museum of Art, on view at OKCMOA from Oct. 31, 2026, through Jan. 24, 2027. The exhibition brings together 127 works, including furniture, jewelry, prints and paintings. Its five sections are Japonisme; Siegfried Bing and the Maison de l’Art Nouveau; École de Nancy; The Triumph of Nature; and From Nouveau to Deco: The Triumph of Industry.
Louis Comfort Tiffany, Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha and Aubrey Beardsley are among the artists represented. The baby program focuses on a narrower set of visual ideas—lamps, flowing designs and decorative objects—and pairs looking with movement, toys and stories.

Separate holiday activities offer other ways to visit
On Dec. 12, Drop-In Art: Photos with Santa & Art Nouveau-Inspired Frames is a separate, come-and-go program, not part of the sold-out baby session. The listing schedules frame decorating in the classrooms and storytime in the galleries from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can decorate a wooden frame with metallic paints, paint pens and other embellishments. The activity is for all ages, requires no preregistration and is free with museum admission or for members. Santa photos are listed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Babies event page separately lists Santa visiting the museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those listings give different hours for Santa, so they should not be treated as one program schedule. The Drop-In Art listing also offers free hot chocolate and $2 cookies in the Museum Store, while supplies last.
For Sunday, Dec. 13, December Access for All offers free gallery admission from noon to 5 p.m. and storytimes with Museum Elf Ginger Jinglefluff at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The museum says reservations for free tickets begin Dec. 6.
Another option is Drop-In Art: Wearable Nature: Art Nouveau Charms on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can make shrinky-dink charms with flower, insect and other nature-inspired designs. The all-ages activity requires no preregistration and is free with admission or for members.
