Disney’s Descendants: The Musical brings the villains’ children to Baltimore
What happens when the children of famous villains get a chance to choose a different path? Disney’s Descendants: The Musical takes that question to school in Auradon, in a Charm City Players Youth Company production coming to Roland Park.
A new chapter for familiar families
The musical draws on Disney’s Descendants movie franchise and brings together the children of heroes and villains. An invitation to attend school in Auradon gives the offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil a choice between their parents’ example and a future of their own.
The production pairs that story with songs, dance and costumes. Its themes of friendship, acceptance and courage make family identity more than a collection of recognizable Disney references: the central question is whether the next generation has to inherit its parents’ reputations.
