Donna Reierson teaches beginning and intermediate students to use observation, shape and shading to give drawings a sense of dimension.

A convincing sense of depth starts with looking closely in Drawing with Donna. Instructor Donna Reierson’s six-week Racine class brings together basic shapes, observation, light and shadow as students work toward realistic drawings.
The course is designed for beginners and intermediate students. Rather than specifying a single finished subject, RAM describes a set of drawing fundamentals: using shapes and careful observation, then exploring how lighting and shading can make a form appear three-dimensional on a flat page.
The series meets on Thursday evenings at RAM Wustum from October 1 through November 5, 2026. It is a six-week class, not a one-night workshop; anyone hoping to join after it has begun should ask the museum about availability.
