A volunteer-led docent tour visits seven artworks on the exhibition level, with examples ranging from ninth-century Assyrian reliefs to a 2025 installation by Do Ho Suh.

All times are local to the venue · America/Los Angeles
LACMA names ninth-century Assyrian reliefs and Do Ho Suh’s 2025 installation Jagyeong Hall, Gyeongbok Palace among the seven works in this docent-led route. The hour is built around considering connections between artworks from different times and places, rather than surveying the museum’s full collection.
The tour covers the exhibition level of the David Geffen Galleries. Its seven selected works offer a limited route through a museum collection that LACMA describes as 155,000 objects spanning thousands of years of artistic expression around the world. Visitors can expect a guided look at selected works, not a comprehensive tour of that collection.

LACMA opened the David Geffen Galleries in 2026 as a home for its permanent collection. The building, designed by architect Peter Zumthor, gives this tour its setting: a single exhibition level where the advertised selection brings together works from widely separated periods and places.
