Sandy of Smells Like Home Candle Co. leads a soy-wax workshop with holiday fragrances and an optional mini charcuterie lesson.
All times are local to the venue · America/Chicago
Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 6:00–8:00 p.m. CST. Doors open 15 minutes before class. The event listing says the class may be canceled if the instructor's minimum sign-up is not met.
The finished project at Holiday Candle Class is a 16-ounce soy-wax candle in a ceramic tree, personalized with a choice of holiday fragrance. Sandy of Smells Like Home Candle Co. guides the November 3 workshop at The 1889 Fargo, with time built in for the candle to set before participants take it home.
Sandy leads participants step by step through making the candle. The fragrance selection is the opportunity to personalize the project; the ceramic-tree container is part of the finished candle rather than a separate piece participants are making.
The class welcomes beginners and provides the supplies, so prior candle-making experience or a personal materials kit is not needed.

The candle is expected to take about 45 minutes to an hour to set. During that wait, participants can mingle or play games; giveaways are also planned.
For an additional $15, attendees can choose a mini charcuterie board class and learn to assemble a spread. Wine, cocktails and other drinks are available for purchase.
