Horticulturist and horticultural therapist Angie Andrade leads two adult sessions at York Street. Participants make a mini sensory garden to take home, with plants and other materials supplied.

All times are local to the venue · America/Denver
This workshop treats a small garden as more than a one-day project: participants build a mini sensory garden, then learn mindful indoor-gardening practices and ways to care for it through winter. All materials, including plants suited to varied growing conditions, are provided.
The two-hour make-and-take session covers both creating the garden and caring for it afterward. Participants design and build a mini sensory garden to bring home, and learn techniques for tending it indoors. The Gardens says the supplied plants will thrive in a variety of growing conditions; it does not name specific plants or promise a particular setup.
That care component gives the project a life beyond the workshop. The class also introduces mindful indoor gardening, connecting a hands-on activity with the ongoing work of noticing and tending a living garden.

The Gardens positions the workshop for the colder months, when outdoor gardens are at rest and staying connected to nature can be more difficult. Its description presents engaging the senses and tending plants as ways to support calm, mindful moments; these are the activity’s aims, not a promised therapeutic or medical outcome.
