Keiko Ogawa’s life extends well beyond the boxing ring in Small, Slow But Steady. The film screens at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s Noble Theater on November 10, 2026, with an in-person Q&A with director Shô Miyake afterward.
Yukino Kishii plays Keiko, a deaf semiprofessional boxer who works as a chambermaid and shares a home with her brother. She trains at a Tokyo gym in financial difficulty, under a veteran trainer known as the Chairman, played by Tomokazu Miura, whose health is declining.
Shot and set during the COVID pandemic, Miyake’s film follows Keiko across the demands of work, home and a sport in which she is surrounded largely by men. Her attachment to the gym gives its uncertain future a personal weight.

The Noble Theater event pairs the screening with a chance to hear from Miyake in person. OKCMOA Film Society members have a separate option before the film: a reception in the Theater Lobby, with its own registration link.
OKCMOA also mentions home streaming beginning November 10, but does not explain how to access it or whether the filmmaker Q&A will be included. Anyone planning to watch remotely should check with the museum first.
