Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science bring Trip The Night Fantastic to Baltimore
A new album is the starting point for Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science’s Baltimore engagement. The group celebrates “Trip The Night Fantastic” with D.C.-based vocalist Christie Dashiell at Keystone Korner Baltimore on February 19 and 20, 2027.
Two bandleaders meet for an album celebration
Carrington is a drummer, producer, educator and NEA Jazz Master whose career includes work with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Esperanza Spalding. Her 2013 “Money Jungle: Provocative in Blue” won the Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, making her the first woman to win that category.
Dashiell is a jazz improviser and bandleader in her own right. Her second album, “Journey in Black,” received a Grammy nomination in 2025; earlier, she appeared on NBC’s “The Sing Off” as a member of Howard University’s Afro-Blue vocal jazz ensemble. Those recordings offer a way to get acquainted with the musicians, although the Baltimore shows are billed as a celebration of “Trip The Night Fantastic,” not a published song-by-song program.

The club lists separate tickets for the early and late live shows on each night. A streaming pass is also listed at the early showtime for each date. Keystone Korner says a pass provides access to both sets that night, but only the first set remains available for 72 hours after the show starts.
