Dartmouth students sing alongside community members in the Dartmouth College Gospel Choir, an ensemble whose reach extends beyond campus. Its fall concert comes to Spaulding Auditorium on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
The choir brings together vocalists of varied backgrounds and beliefs around music that speaks to faith, love and inspiration. The Hopkins Center describes its broader repertoire as ranging from spirituals to contemporary gospel, with a full band accompanying the singers.
That range offers a sense of the ensemble’s work, rather than a setlist for this particular evening. Individual songs for the November concert have not been announced.

Ahmaya Knoelle Higginson’s work as a director and teaching artist connects the Dartmouth ensemble with a wider commitment to music education. In Harlem, she co-founded The Mama Foundation for The Arts with her mother, Vy Higginsen; the organization teaches music and performance and works to pass African American musical traditions to new generations.
Higginson also founded Sing Harlem, a touring vocal ensemble drawn from students at the foundation. Her background includes jazz vocal studies, musical theater and performances in productions including Mama I Want To Sing!
