In The Dallas Opera’s family adaptation, three singers divide a roster of characters around the Little Prince and his Pilot. That role-changing structure carries the story through encounters with a Fox, a Snake and a talkative Rose. The performance is Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Winspear Opera House.
The opera draws on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s children’s story, following the Little Prince and his pilot companion through encounters that bring care and friendship into focus. Rachel Portman wrote the music, Nicholas Wright the libretto, and Mary Dibbern, Ph.D., adapted the work. The Dallas Opera Orchestra performs.
