Sunday, November 15, 2026: sessions listed 6:30–7:30 p.m., 7:45–8:45 p.m. and 9:00–10:00 p.m. The event page gives each as a one-hour slot; the producer describes the show itself as 42 minutes plus a brief introduction. Fleet-specific arrival, late-entry and re-entry guidance is not confirmed.
Trust the Universe at the Fleet: Alan Watts in a 360-Degree Dome
A one-hour booking window does not mean Trust the Universe itself runs for 60 minutes: Spherical Pictures gives the dome presentation as 42 minutes, plus a brief introduction. At the Fleet, the program is an audiovisual treatment of Alan Watts’ philosophy, not a listed live talk.
A voice-led work for a wraparound screen
The Fleet describes Trust the Universe as a 360-degree dome show about Watts’ teachings. Spherical Pictures says his voice guides the presentation, alongside full-field animation and a 5.1 surround score by composer Alvand Jalali. The Fleet listing names no live speaker or Q&A, a useful distinction for anyone expecting a lecture or conversation.
Spherical Pictures identifies the San Diego venue as the Fleet’s IMAX Dome and describes its screen as a 76-foot wraparound surface. The dome is central to the format: this is a single audiovisual presentation designed to surround the audience, rather than a talk with a separate visual backdrop.

The session window is longer than the stated runtime
The Fleet lists the same title in three one-hour windows; it does not describe different versions or additional live segments. The producer’s 42-minute runtime excludes a brief introduction, but the published information does not spell out the rest of each session window or give Fleet-specific door-opening and late-entry procedures.
That makes the listed hour the safer planning guide for the evening, rather than a precise forecast of when the presentation begins or ends. The producer’s general FAQ also says re-entry may be restricted; the Fleet has not confirmed that rule for this screening.

Plan the evening
Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026
The Fleet lists sessions from 6:30–7:30 p.m., 7:45–8:45 p.m. and 9–10 p.m. Pacific Time. Each listing carries the same event title.
Check the ticket listing before choosing a session
The Fleet links to tickets for the three sessions, and the producer’s ticket page offers the Nov. 15 date. The event information does not state a price, current availability or whether a show ticket includes access to the museum galleries. The Fleet’s regular public hours are listed as 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; these are evening sessions, so don’t assume daytime gallery admission is part of the ticket.

The producer’s guidance is general, not Fleet-specific
Spherical Pictures’ general FAQ says all ages may attend and recommends the show for ages 12 and older because the setting is dark and sound may be loud. It recommends arriving 15–20 minutes before showtime for parking, ticket collection and seating, says re-entry may be restricted, and prohibits photography and video during the show. The Fleet listing does not confirm whether these policies apply to this screening.

Getting to the Fleet
Address and entrance
The event is at the Fleet Science Center, 1875 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101, at the east end of Balboa Park’s El Prado pathway. The Fleet says its parking lot is on the south side of the building, near the entrance, and is reached from Space Theater Way off Park Boulevard.

Bus and walking directions
MTS Route 7 and Rapid 215 serve stops along Park Boulevard within a short walk of the Fleet. The center advises bus riders to reach the stop nearest the park 15–20 minutes before the event to allow time to walk to the venue; that is an arrival buffer, not a stated walk duration.
Routes 3 and 120 serve Fourth and Fifth avenues on the park’s west side. From the stop closest to Laurel Street, the Fleet’s directions continue east along Laurel, over Cabrillo Bridge and past Plaza de Panama toward the large fountain; the Fleet is on the right. Route 7 and Rapid 215 connect with other MTS services, and Rapid 215 connects downtown with Amtrak and COASTER trains at Santa Fe Depot.
Balboa Park parking
The City of San Diego says paid parking remains in effect through 2026, with enforcement daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The three listed sessions begin after that enforcement window. If arriving earlier, the Space Theater lot is a Level 1 lot: the listed rates are $10 for up to four hours or $16 for a full day for nonresidents, and $5 for up to four hours or $8 for a full day for verified City of San Diego residents.
Verified city residents can park free in general Level 2 and 3 lots and receive discounts in premium lots. Advance online registration is required; the one-time resident-registration fee is $5, and verification may take up to two business days. Nonresidents can park free for up to three hours at Lower Inspiration Point; the City lists a $10 full-day rate there and a free tram to other areas of the park. Tram service from Inspiration Point is listed as 8 a.m.–8 p.m., so it does not cover a return after the 7:45 or 9 p.m. session.
The City says a vehicle displaying a valid disabled-person placard or plate may park free, with no time limit, in any Balboa Park lot or at park meters.
