Spoken word and a symphonic mix of hip-hop, R&B, jazz and Gospel meet in YOU ARE NOT ALONE at Dallas’ Wyly Theatre on Friday, October 30, 2026. Leon Brown leads the storytelling, with Grammy Award winner Roy Cotton II curating and conducting the music alongside The RoyzNoyz Orchestra.
A performance in chapters
Rather than a conventional orchestral concert, the evening brings Brown’s spoken-word storytelling into a live musical setting. Cotton’s program draws on several traditions, placing hip-hop and R&B alongside jazz and Gospel.
The announced chapters address mental health, grief, depression, heartbreak, faith and survival. The performance is intended to move from those subjects toward a musical celebration centered on hope, joy and community. The event listing does not identify individual pieces or a setlist.

An occasion to dress up
The event encourages formal evening attire, suggesting tuxedos, gowns and other dressy clothes. It is an invitation to dress for the occasion rather than a stated admission requirement.
