Santa Photos at Wing Luke: A Chinatown-International District Setting
The backdrop for Wing Luke Museum’s Santa photos is a scrim depicting the historic Nippon Kan Theater—not the event venue itself. Families meet Santa in the museum’s Tateuchi Story Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026, during a timed-ticket session from noon to 3 p.m.
A neighborhood reference, not just a holiday backdrop
The photos are planned by Truong Nguyen Photography, with the Nippon Kan Theater image behind the portraits. That choice connects a family photo appointment at the museum to a named place in the Chinatown-International District, while keeping the actual gathering in the Tateuchi Story Theatre.
Wing Luke describes the district’s history through multicultural collaboration and intersecting communities, and says it aims to make the event welcoming to all. The museum also says the gathering supports its exhibitions, youth programs and work preserving the neighborhood.
