How can a flat drawing suggest a room or a distant view? All About Perspective introduces young artists to that question through looking, geometry and mixed media at The Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.
The class moves between observation and making: students explore the museum’s architecture and gallery art for ideas, then return to the studio to draw. Simple geometry concepts help them create an impression of depth, and mixed-media techniques give them ways to add their own creative elements.
Abby Jordan is the teaching artist for the series. The course is intended for children ages 6–8 and is part of The Joslyn’s broader studio program, which includes classes and workshops inspired by works in the galleries.
