Making Memories: The Triumph of Nature Edition at OKCMOA
The Dec. 14 session takes one artwork as its starting point, rather than trying to survey all of The Triumph of Nature. At the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the morning moves from a seated gallery conversation to artmaking and light refreshments in the classrooms.
A single work within a wide-ranging show
The conversation takes place during The Triumph of Nature: Art Nouveau from the Chrysler Museum of Art, on view at OKCMOA Oct. 31, 2026, through Jan. 24, 2027. The exhibition brings together 127 works, including furniture, jewelry, prints and paintings, drawn primarily from gifts of Walter P. and Jean Chrysler. Their homes once served as showrooms for these objects.
Five exhibition sections trace themes from Japonisme and Siegfried Bing and the Maison de l’Art Nouveau to École de Nancy, The Triumph of Nature, and From Nouveau to Deco: The Triumph of Industry. Works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha and Aubrey Beardsley are among those featured. The event announcement does not identify which artwork will anchor the conversation, so visitors should not expect a particular artist or object.

From close looking to classroom artmaking
The announced sequence begins with a seated conversation around one work in The Triumph of Nature, then shifts to artmaking and light refreshments in the classrooms. The event description does not name the selected artwork or specify the project or materials, so the confirmed plan is the format rather than a particular technique or finished piece.
