Instead of trying to take in an entire gallery, Mindful Looking asks visitors to spend time with one work of art. The Denver Art Museum program gives participants a chance to notice details, raise questions and explore ideas together.
The museum’s October selection offers an example of how much there can be to notice in a single work. For Didier William’s Cheval: the Other Side of the Mirror is Home, the museum drew attention to its vivid color, curved forms and the many eyes within it. Any one of those details could be a starting point for looking more closely.
That was October’s selection, not a preview of November. The museum has not identified the artwork for the November 17 session, so visitors will need to wait to learn what the group will examine.

For those who prefer to join from elsewhere, the museum also lists a free Mindful Looking Online session on January 19, 2027, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. It takes place over Microsoft Teams and is separate from November’s in-person gathering. The online event page links to the meeting and offers connection guidance for computers and mobile devices.
